007 Skyfall-Esque FUI

I was working on a comedy-short for a show that aired on ProSieben.Sat1. We were reviewing a "spy watch" that can record video. Skyfall had just come out so we decided to make the short/review James Bond themed.

I had 1 1/2 days to create two animated screens from scratch. This was used in a fake lab on a huge monitor in the background.

After being inspired by GMUNKs AMAZING FUIs for the Sony Mouse & Cat ad - and seeing that he put up the style-guide I decided to try and create a 007 FUI myself. That is the reason it looks like a carbon-copy of GMUNKs work, because it was designed to look just like that.

I created the basic layout in Photoshop CS6, animated it in Adobe After Effects CS6 and animated the arc reactor with Plexus.

This is the clean plate I created in Photoshop which was used as the background layer for all the animated stuff.

The main screen. This was very crudely animated as I had no previous work to pull from, had never animated a FUI before and time was not on my side. It was also just a background screen and never in focus, so it didn't matter much.

If I could do this again, I'd change the expression I used to animate the random numbers everywhere. They run WAY too fast.

The second screen, designed to quickly show off that you can download the videos from watch via USB to a PC. This was only shown briefly in a dimmly-lit car on a tiny laptop, but it did its duty well.
